Heart of Darkness Singapore marks St Patrick’s Day with the launch of The Ghost – a limited-edition stout aged in Teeling Whiskey casks – and a celebratory Heart of Darkness x Teeling Whiskey tasting menu.
St Patrick’s Day, also known as Lá Fhéile Pádraig (that is, ‘The Day of the Festival of St Patrick’), is synonymous with drinking lots of stout. And Irish whiskey. For this coming St Patrick’s Day, Heart of Darkness Singapore is offering the best of both worlds: the Singapore bar restaurant – an offshoot of the Vietnam-based craft brewery – will launch a special limited-edition brew celebrating both iconic Irish tipples.
The Ghost by Heart of Darkness is a barrel-aged imperial stout made in collaboration with Teeling Whiskey, Ireland’s leading progressive Irish whiskey producer. Available exclusively in Singapore, this is an imperial stout that’s been aged in ex first-fill bourbon barrels used to age Teeling whiskey. The barrels impart hints of whiskey and vanilla to the roasty coffee and rich chocolate-like notes of the stout, which clocks in at 12% ABV.
The Ghost will be key highlight in an exclusive tasting menu Heart of Darkness will be introducing this March. From 17 to 31 March 2022, the craft beer restaurant will offer a special Heart of Darkness x Teeling Whiskey tasting menu that will come with The Ghost barrel-aged stout, as well as a flight of four Teeling whiskies.
The Teeling whiskies are:
- Teeling Small Batch
- Teeling Blackpitts
- Teeling Small Batch Plantation Rum Cask Finish
- Teeling Renaissance 18YO Single Malt
These will be paired with some newly-launched dishes. There’s Darkness Gyoza and Gai Kao (chicken dumplings) to start, followed by spicy Prawn Bang Bang. Then you get to the highlight of the meal, where you get to pair The Ghost with Char Siew Beef Short Rib & Potatoes. This is followed by Sweet & Sour Chicken Skewers, and you’ll end off the repast with dessert.
