It’s for this reason premier lifestyle concierge Native launched its ‘Like A Native’ campaign, which looks at curating exclusive events and uniquely local experiences both for foreigners visiting Singapore, as well as locals who’d love to explore their own city through a new lens.
Native originally launched in 2018 as a Singapore-based travel booking site. But it pivoted in 2020 when the global coronavirus pandemic hit, effectively shut down leisure travel and limiting its offerings.
“The pandemic has forced us to a standstill, but who is to say we can’t find a little magic right at home? We still want to celebrate life, and Singapore has all we need. The Native audience will be surprised at the wide variety of activities we can do right at our doorstep,” shared Kevin Chow, partner and co-founder of Native.
‘Like A Native’ puts together an entire slew of new offerings, put together in collaboration with various partners that run the gamut of the city’s top lifestyle brands across categories such as F&B, fitness, wellness, as well as arts & culture.
There are activities for adrenaline junkies if you’re into that kind of heart-pumping stuff – bungie jumps, rock climbing, and indoor skydiving, among others. If you’re the arty-farty type instead? Check out the craft workshops. Learn leather working or making your own rugs, for example. Prefer to simply pamper yourself? Find spa massage or manicure and pedicure treatments, or private onsen getaways to spoil yourself, for example.
Then there’s our favourite category, which covers drinks and dining. Currently available is a guided gin tasting session at homegrown distillery Brass Lion, or you can book a special multi-course sake pairing ‘Chef’s Table’ dinner experience at sake gastrobar Sake Labo. There was a previous gin masterclass held in collaboration with Hendrick’s Gin over at Flow Bar guided by its award-winning mixologist Ricky Paiva; sadly that experience has ended.
“Get messy at a NFT art-jamming session, enjoy exclusive culinary adventures, or try out a simulated golfing experience for the first time. The Native audience will be surprised at the wide variety of activities we can do right at our doorstep,” added Chow.
