Destination services provider Trafalgar celebrates 75 years of curating award-winning travel experiences, and introduces new packages for today’s travellers.

Travel industry leader Trafalgar celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. The Travel Corporation-owned destination services provider Trafalgar was first founded in 1947 by the late TTC founder and global tourism industry visionary Stanley S. Tollman, and the tour operator has been providing a variety of specialised tourism packages across the world since.

According to Trafalgar, the operator has since serviced over 5 million guests on its many award-winning vacations globally.

“As we mark 75 years, we’ve never been more excited for the next chapter as we continue to innovate and redefine exceptional travel, just as we always have, particularly the positive impact we can make across the destinations we are so lucky to have the privilege to visit,” said Trafalgar CEO Gavin Tollman of the milestone.

But Trafalgar is also aware that the needs of today’s travellers are evolving.

“We’re seeing a rise in interest from Asia-based travellers who want to plan in-depth tours of the USA and Europe. After being deprived of exploration for several years, travellers are looking to be fully immersed in the culture of each destination they visit,” shared Mae Cheah, Managing Director Asia, TTC Tour Brands.

“A nice hotel simply does not cut it anymore. Our guests are looking to be challenged and excited,” Cheah revealed.

To address those changing needs, Trafalgar has announced that in addition to expanding its portfolio of trips and destinations, the provider will continue to evolve and expand their signature experiences guests and agent partners have grown to know and love. An example of a much beloved Trafalgar experience is ‘Be My Guest’, a series of original travel experiences that allows guests to interact with locals and immerse themselves into local culture. Over 100 Be My Guest experiences are currently offered across Trafalgar itineraries.

Then there are its newly-introduced packages targeted at the active and adventurous, as well as those interested in culture and heritage.

For example Trafalgar’s exhilarating Active & Hiking itineraries in the US combine adventure and fitness for those looking for the ultimate adrenaline rush. A key highlight is Trafalgar’s 11-day Colorado Active Adventure, which offers access to some of America’s most epic natural landscapes that incorporates hiking at Mesa Verde, a UNESCO-listed site.

Alternative there are its new Culture & Heritage trips. These use food, art and stories as platforms to immerse guests in the history of the USA, including explorations of indigenous and African American history past and present. Examples here include its Journey Along the Civil Rights Trail, which uses music and moving first-hand accounts to tell of the America’s civil rights movement, while National Parks and Native Trails of the Dakotas sees Marla C. Bull Bear, member of Rosebud Sioux Tribe, guide guests on a journey of storytelling, singing, dance and local flavours.

“Guests are at the heart of everything we do, and we are proud to offer ‘Simply the Best’ way for travellers from around the world to experience the joy of travel, without worry or stress through seven decades of perfecting the art of what we do,” Trafalgar’s Tollman concluded.
