Kuala Lumpur rum bar JungleBird takes over the sticks at newly-revamped and reopened Bar MF at Burger & Lobster in Raffles Hotel Singapore from 19 May to 2 June 2023.
To celebrate the reopening of its alfresco watering hole Bar MF, Burger & Lobster at Raffles Hotel Singapore has lined up award-winning Malaysia cocktail bar JungleBird for a special two-week bar and kitchen takeover. Running from 19 May to 2 June 2023, Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur-based JungleBird will be bringing over some of its signature rum-focused cocktails and bar bites to offer Singapore cocktail revellers a taste of their fusion Caribbean-Malaysian flavours.
Those of us who’ve been to JungleBird in Kuala Lumpur – ranked No.35 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars last year – might be familiar with their unique range of well-loved classic cocktails, nostalgic tiki drinks, and irreverent localised concoctions. During the takeover, JungleBird’s trailblazing co-founders, Divyesh Chauhan, Joshua Ivanovic and Lolita Goh, as well as Bartender Lucas Chee, will helm Bar MF and pour out libations such as the eponymous JungleBird, Malaysia’s national cocktail, or The Best Drink In The World, JungleBird’s spirited take on the classic Daiquiri.
Alternatively there’s the JungleBird Piña Colada, a refreshing clarified version of the Puerto Rican favourite.
Looking for a taste of Malaysia? Try Nonya Business, a rum-laced concoction with notes of rojak, or the Chendol Colada, a dessert take on the Piña Colada with flavours inspired by chendol.
As for food, JungleBird has brought over some of their signature eats to Bar MF. There’s the ever-popular The JungleBird Cubano (which you need to order some Jerk Spiced Wedges to go with), or Elote Fritters, which reinvents the classic Mexican elotes into spiced corn fritters. Be sure to order the absolutely delectable JungleBird KFC Wings, the tumeric-seasoned chicken winglets perfect paired with any cocktail.
The JungleBird takeover will be the first of a series of creative pop-ups and collaborations planned by Burger & Lobster for Bar MF.
