Returning foodie festival The Curated Plate to offer over 100 gastronomic experiences in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast from 28 July to 6 August 2023.

There are many reasons to visit’s Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, but here’s another. And it’s a delicious one too – the region will be celebrating its legendary food scene in style with the return of The Curated Plate.

A food festival aimed at shining the spotlight on the region’s produce, producers as well as its dining scene, The Curated Plate first held its inaugural festival in 2019, but subsequent pandemic years saw the event cancelled or scaled down.

Until now. This year The Curated Plate returns with particular fervour, and will run for ten gastronomically-intensive days from 28 July to 6 August 2023, with over 100 individual dining events – in collaboration with more than 300 local producers – offered from Coolum Beach in the north of Sunshine Coast to Caloundra in the south (not to mention as deep inland as Mapleton, Montville and Beerwah).

Signature events on the 2023 program include the Sunshine Coast Asian Food FestivalMooloolaBARS, a one-day beer and beverage event across Mooloolaba venues and bars, and a free, family-friendly From Paddock to Curated Plate event. Other events we particularly like the sound of include seafood-focused Scale to Tail – A Shucking Good Time at The Nautical in Maroochydore, as well as the the Whisky & Tequila + Chocolate Masterclass available at Mooloolaba.

And if you’re really into your booze, there’s Gin, Gin and more Gin! by Woombye-based distillers Sunshine & Sons Distillery, the Beer & BBQ Degustation Dinner offered by Moffat Beach Brewing Co in Caloundra West.

Time to book that flight to the Sunshine Coast.
