Porto Palooza is a one-day festival at TUGA Singapore this June that puts the spotlight on Portugal’s rich winemaking and culinary heritage.
Portuguese restaurant TUGA Singapore, in collaboration with wine and spirits retailer One Cellar, will be hosting Porta Palooza, a one-day festival on Saturday 8 June 2024 celebrating Portugal’s food and wine culture.
Particularly for wine lovers. Set to be the premier wine extravaganza promoting the wonderfully eclectic and diverse wines of Portugal, Porto Palooza will showcase a wide spectrum of wines from across that part of the Iberian peninsula.
You’re looking at an opportunity to sample over 100 fine Portuguese wines from 14 distinct regions – ranging from Bairrada and Dao to the Douro Valley and even the Azores – and explore their quality, wonderful accessibility, as well as affordability. For oenophiles, it is also a chance to discover the qualities of various indigenous Portuguese grape varietals such as Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Alvarinho, and Gouveio, as well as their various blends, which aren’t as commonly found on wine retail shelves.
Aside from wine, Chef Luis Barradas of TUGA will be rolling various classic Portuguese wine-friendly bar bites to complement your choice of tipple. In particular, expect dishes featuring Portugal’s famous bacalhau salt cod – tossed into a salad, cooked with egg, or fried into croquettes, for example. You’ll also get immerse yourself in Portuguese music and art even as you sip and savour for an authentic Portuguese experience.
Porta Palooza takes place across two sessions, and also presents an exclusive masterclass that runs from 4.15pm to 5.15pm.
