Wolfgang’s Steakhouse Singapore at Hotel InterContinental Robertson Quay has launched a happy hour menu – available daily from 3pm to 6pm – offering a wide selection of wines, beers, house pours and a compact selection of cocktails, along with various bar snack offerings to put you in the right mood before dinner.
When Wolfgang’s Steakhouse opened its doors here in Singapore last October, it established itself as a go-to destination for decadent New York-style steaks. Earlier this month the local Wolfgang Zweiner offshoot unveiled a Manhattan-inspired happy hour program, which may give some patrons more reason to wine and dine just that little bit earlier.
That said the beers in the happy hour menu are affordable at $10 per pint but downright pedestrian, and the wine offerings – with just the Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon at $15++ by the glass – limited in choice, so you’re actually best off with the house pour spirits at just $10++ per pour. The cocktails are exceedingly well priced at $15++; the Negroni, Manhattan, Mojito et al are comfortingly familiar, while the specialty cocktails such as the Wolfgang Sling ($15++) – concocted with Bombay Sapphire, cherry brandy, Benedictine DOM, lemon juice and sparkling water – or the Orchard Road ($15++) – Bombay Sapphire, honey syrup and lemon juice – are worth trying out.
What you really want to dig into though are the premium bar snacks – the USDA Prime Sirloin Steak Crostinis ($20++) and the Classic Wolfgang Burger ($22++ and above), in particular. Make sure you ask for the house made, hand cut potato crisps, too.
Just remember to leave some room for steak if you want to have dinner there as well.
