Cask and Bangers defies Dry January with Ginuary, a gin-focused drinks menu for the first month of the year.
If like us you’ve some less enlightened friends who’ve declared a Dry January, pick up the slack on their behalf. Consider Cask and Bangers, which has launched a gin-focused drinks promotion in defiance of that month of teetotalling. With ‘Ginuary’, diners at the English gastropub in Clarke Quay can sample its signature drinks paired with British-style fare.

Interestingly, Cask and Bangers has a ‘Strictly British Only’ gin menu; expect to see brands like Hendrick’s, Bombay Sapphire, No.3, Copperhead and their ilk. Pairings include Hendrick’s & Tonic with a cucumber sandwich at just $24++, or No.3 London Dry & Tonic with the classic fish & chips ($40++), among others. Meat lovers may want to try the Lancashire hotpot ($30++), although we’re not too sure the No.3 London Dry & Tonic is the best match with it.

There are dessert pairings too. Try the Copperhead Gin Orange Martini with a gooey chocolate brownie ($25++), or a Lavender Gin Fizz with vanilla ice cream ($24++) if you have a sweet tooth.
