If you’re looking for a taste of Spain, modern European restaurant Winestone has put together a Spanish wine pairing dinner available now till end February featuring a four-course Spanish-style meal that comes with a curated glass of wine from different regions of Spain for each course.

If you enjoy your wine and you’re not already (intimately) familiar with Winestone in Novotel on Stevens, well you should. The modern European wine bar and restaurant may not have the most encompassing of wine menus, but prices here are downright reasonable. After all, how can you say no to $6++ house wine? But if you want to rock it up a notch, its seasonal four-course Spanish wine pairing dinner could be your thing, It’s also a great way to taste some of the signature wines of Spain while filling your tummy!

You’ll start with a Monastrell – also known as Mataro, or Mourvèdre to the French – from Castillo Del Baron in southeastern Spain to go along with your Jamon Iberico. This is then followed by a Gambas course of frittered prawns and a delicious take on brandada de bacalao with a Godello from Alvarez de Toledo. The rounded fruitiness of the indigenous grape mostly grown in northwestern Spain complements the savouriness of the cod brandade perfectly.

Red or White Wine? Why not both at Winestone.

This is followed by a choice of Seafood Paella with Chorizo that uses Fideua pasta instead of the usual Bomba rice, or an Estofados de Carne, a robust beef stew with potatoes. The former comes paired with a Macabeo from Castillo del Baron, a grape varietal commonly grown in Spain’s northeastern Rioja region; the latter is served alongside the Tempranillo-based Pujanza Hado, also from Rioja.

If you’re wondering where’s the cava, the Zeta Cava Brut is served as a digestif alongside your dessert of Duo Crema Catalana with Churros. Now no wine discovery is ever complete without a taste of sherry, but we can’t have it all, can we?

Winestone’s four-course Spanish Wine Pairing menu is available at $98++ per person, with a minimum of two persons to dine. Winestone opens for dinner from 6 pm until 12 midnight (last order at 10 pm), from Mondays to Saturdays.
