In collaboration with DFS and Changi Airport Group, Rémy Cointreau has unveiled a special LOUIS XIII pop-up boutique at Changi Airport Terminal 3 that will run from now to 13 November 2019.

Here’s taking luxury travel retail to the next level – Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail (GTR) has worked with travel retailer DFS and Singapore’s Changi Airport Group to create an exclusive pop-up boutique for its premium cognac brand LOUIS XIII. Inspired by the LOUIS XIII boutiques in Beijing and London, the first-of-its-kind popup space in Changi Airport’s Terminal 3 looks to take travelers on a multi-sensory journey inspired by one of the world’s most luxurious cognacs.

While Rémy Cointreau would point out that the centerpiece of the pop-up is its Century Wheel – it’s an interactive circle of light that brings the century-long aging process of LOUIS XIII cognac to life in a spectrum of cognac shades – we’d argue that the real hero of the space is the tiercon that was meticulously shipped all the way from Cognac in France to Singapore. Tiercons are the precious massive oaken barrels – mostly made from rare and precious Limousin oak – that’s used to age eau-de-vie into cognac, and are rarely seen outside the cellars of cognac maisons.

We think this alone is worth the visit to the pop-up – to gawk at Tiercon 550.

LOUIS XIII Le Mathusalem

For those who are baller, you can pick up a bottle of LOUIS XIII on the way to your flight, or if you’re feeling particularly flush there’s even a glorious 6-litre LOUIS XIII Le Mathusalem personally autographed by LOUIS XIII cellar master Baptiste Loiseau, available for purchase exclusively at the pop-up boutique in Changi Airport. Delivery for that is provides; you probably don’t want to cart that out on your own.

“LOUIS XIII cognac is an icon of French art de vivre and lifetsyle. We are proud to set this pioneering milestone with our new LOUIS XIII pop-up concept. This pop-up will showcase the LOUIS XIII experience of time and will enhance our commitment for craftsmanship, savoir‐faire and incomparable service,” said Ludovic du Plessis, LOUIS XIII Global Executive Director.

“We are honoured to partner with LOUIS XIII in unveiling this exclusive pop-up for travellers at Changi Airport. This multi-dimensional concept is a celebration of our shared vision with Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail to push the boundaries of travel retail, and ignite the senses of our travelling customers,” added Brooke Supernaw, Senior Vice President, Spirits, Wine, Tobacco, Food and Gifts, DFS Group.

This collaboration comes after DFS announced last month that it would not continue its travel retail concessions for liquor and tobacco at Changi Airport and will close all its stores there in mid-2020.

The LOUIS XIII pop-up boutique is located airside at Changi Airport Terminal 3 and will be there from now till 13 November 2019.
