Carlsberg has launched a limited edition Carlsberg Liverpool Champions Can to celebrate Liverpool Football Club’s Premier League win.

Great news for fans of Liverpool Football Club – Danish beer giant Carlsberg has launched a special limited edition can to celebrate the team’s recent Premier League 2019/2020 win.

Liverpool’s triumph last week in the top tier of England’s domestic football league meant that the club finally lifted the trophy after 30 years. The Reds last won the honours in 1990. It has also been a long wait for Carlsberg too, who have sponsored the Liverpool-based football team since 1992 in what is the longest running partnership in England’s Premier League. The win cements Liverpool’s reputation as one of the world’s most historic football clubs, and having won 19 League Titles, seven FA Cups, eight League Cups, six European Cups, three UEFA Cups, three European Super Cups and 15 Charity Shields since its founding in 1892.

“We’re delighted to be celebrating the team’s incredible season together with Liverpool FC fans across the world. Our role is to make football even better for the fans, and hopefully this will make their celebrations even sweeter,” says Louise Bach, Carlsberg’s Head of Global Sponsorships.

The limited-edition packaging sees Carlsberg switch its iconic green to Liverpool FC’s similarly iconic red, and features Liverpool FC’s crest and player signatures with the words ‘Liverpool FC Champions’ to commemorate the historic win.

Liverpool FC fans in Singapore can find the limited-edition ‘Champions Can’ celebratory packs at FairPrice Online, RedMart and selected FairPrice stores. These packs retail at S$50.50 for a pack of 24 cans, while stocks last. Carlsberg will also be retailing the limited edition ‘Champions Bottle” at selected coffee shops and hawker centres in Singapore.

If you’re a Liverpool FC fan looking to collect more memorabilia, Carlsberg will be offering you a chance to win a special “Champion’s Kit’ – consisting of the Carlsberg Liverpool Champions Can, a ‘Champions Coaster’ as well as Carlsberg x Liverpool FC stemmed glass – via social media giveaways over the coming weeks. You can also commemorate the occasion by adopting a virtual red Liverpool FC keg for S$200 via Carlsberg’s Adopt A Keg initiative. This is a fund-raising initiative by the Danish brewer to support bars, pubs and restaurants that have struggled during the coronavirus pandemic.
