Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts partners Campari to launch Sala Spiritello, a series of pop up cocktail experiences in its Southeast Asia properties for the month of December 2020.

One may not be able to travel to Italy this coronavirus season, but fortunately Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts has deigned to bring a slice of Italy to this part of the world. For the period of December, world’s largest luxury hotel brand has launched Sala Spiritello in collaboration with leading Italian apéritif brand to bring a series of pop-up experiences to its hotels in Southeast Asia region.

For Sala Spiritello, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts will transform some of its hotel venues into Campari experience zones that allows local and hotel guests to immerse in Milanese drinking culture, and in particular, the very Italian tradition of imbibing in aperitivos and digestivos. This will also take place as a series of masterclasses and in-suite experiences in its properties InterContinental Singapore (Singapore), InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah (Indonesia), InterContinental Hua Hin, InterContinental Phuket Resort, InterContinental Koh Samui (Thailand), InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72, InterContinental Saigon, and InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula (Vietnam).

Sala Spiritello is named for and particularly inspired by the exclusive cocktail and food pairing space hidden within Camparino bar in Galleria, Milan, which was started in 1915 by the founder of Campari. “Inspiration of the Camparino in Galleria with 105 years of history, is the symbol of the authentic Milanese aperitivo,” shared Daniel Schwalb, Campari Managing Director – South East Asia and India. “The most important intervention is The Sala Spiritello, hidden within Camparino, where the art of mixology meets the aromas and flavour of the food mastery.”

As part of the tie-up, Campari regional brand ambassador Symphony Loo has created a brand-new InterContinental Negroni cocktail that will be served across the eight participating InterContinental hotels in Southeast Asia.

“My inspiration (for the new Negroni) stems from the go-to gifts such as locally-sourced coffee beans, tea and chocolate that we bring home to friends and families when travelling within South East Asia. Taste profile of the drink includes floral notes, coffee, hint of saltiness and citrus,” shared Loo.

In Singapore, Sala Spiritello will take place as a pop-up at The Lobby Lounge in InterContinental Singapore, which will be offering a special drinks menu created by Campari that will be paired with a snacks menu curated by the hotel’s chefs. Aside from the InterContinental Negroni, cocktails include the light and refreshing Negroni Sbagliato, fruity yet bitter Pina Shakerato, and the strong and punchy Aero 2.0.

“At a time when our guests are unable to travel internationally, our partnership with Campari is a great way for our hotels to continue bringing the iconic taste of Italy through worldly classics to our guests in hotels across the region. The new InterContinental Negroni will give us more cheers to usher in 2021,” said Mark Flower, VP Commercial, IHG, South East Asia and Korea.

The Sala Spiritello pop-up at InterContinental Singapore will take place from 11 to 31 December 2020 at The Lobby Lounge. Cocktails are priced from S$16++.
