Penfolds partners W Bangkok, converting an entire hotel suite into the Penfolds Extraordinary Suite Experience, a luxurious paradise perfect for wine lovers.
Heading to Bangkok and looking for a place to stay? Here’s one a self-confessed oenophile may want to consider – leading Australian wine brand Penfolds this year kicked off a partnership with 5-star lifestyle hotel W Bangkok, converting an entire hotel suite for an ‘Extraordinary Suite Experience’.
As part of the ‘Extraordinary Suite Experience’, Penfolds will take over W Bangkok’s iconic Studio Suite and dress it in the winery’s iconic red from February 2022 to the end of the year.
But the takeover is not just limited to colour. Guests who book the exclusive quarters are also looking at a fully-stocked Max’s bar on one side of the expansive suite. The bar contains a pair of Penfolds Max’s – a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Chardonnay – and the more premium Bin 23 Pinot Noir and St. Henri Shiraz, all of which you can pop open to enjoy… at a price, of course. And unlike the generic glasses you normally get in the hotel room, the bar also comes with range of red-stemmed wine glasses and an electric bottle opener so as to ensure the right proper wine-drinking experience.
Aside from the ‘Extraordinary Suite Experience’, the Penfolds and W Bangkok partnership extends to various extended wine experiences that one could enjoy from the prestigious hotel’s properties. Thai restaurant Paii at The House on Sathorn, for example, has an afternoon tea set that comes with a choice of 2 Penfold Max’s cocktails or a bottle of Penfolds wine. Then there’s buffet restaurant The Kitchen Table, which offers its Tipsy Cow discovery set with a choice of Penfolds wine. These dining experiences can be enjoyed in-suite as well.
“We are thrilled to launch the Penfolds experience with W Bangkok, allowing hotel guests and visitors to experience Penfolds and taste our wines in a different way. According to a Penfolds luxury and fine wine study conducted in 2021, one of the biggest opportunities identified is that consumers are looking for immersive experiences,” said Mr. Yodissen Mootoosamy, General Manager at Penfolds International.
“We are confident that this experience will allow consumers to learn more about the brand and remember this extraordinary experience. As Thailand opens its borders with Test & Go, travelers from around the world will be able to have a taste of Australia’s most cellared wine as well,” added Mootoosamy.
The Penfolds Extraordinary Suite Experience is available at W Bangkok from now until 31 December 2022, starting from THB 5,999++ per night inclusive of breakfast for two and a bottle of Penfolds. One room available per night only.
