Looking for weekend brunch options, particularly those with great Italian food and free-flowing bubbly? Why, we do have some recommendations for you.

Here are three of the best Italian themed Sunday brunches recently introduced in Singapore for your absolute weekend dining pleasure.

The Italian Bistronomic Champagne Brunch at LUCE by Davide Giacomelli

One of the newer Italian restaurants to burst onto Singapore’s gastronomic scene, InterContinental Singapore’s flagship restaurant LUCE by Davide Giacomelli is steadily gaining a reputation for offering fresh and bold flavours from the Italian peninsula. Even better, it recently unveiled a spanking-new Sunday brunch spread that is sure to please both Italophiles and buffet lovers alike.

LUCE’s Italian Bistronomic Champagne Brunch package features an extensive buffet line of cold seafood – we’re talking freshly-shucked oysters, Boston lobster, and tiger prawns – and sashimi, as well as a plethora of appetisers, hot dishes, and desserts. But what’s particularly exciting is a dedicated cheese and charcuterie room, as well as live stations such as a pinsa and pizza section as well as another where you see your mafaldine cacio e pepe being prepared in a Parmesan cheese wheel.

And because we know you’re sure to ask… we highly recommend you attack – aside from mafaldine cacio e pepe – the Eggs a l’ Amatriciana (think Italian-style shakshouka with a most delectable tomato based sauce with pancetta and onions), and the Orecchia di Elefante, a tender Lombard-style breaded veal cutlet that will put most schnitzels to shame.

Don’t forget the bubbly. Your regular buffet package lands you free flow Prosecco. But top up just a little extra upgrades that to Taittinger or an Italian Franciacorta, which in our opinion offers ridiculously good value.

The Italian Bistronomic Champagne Brunch at LUCE by Davide Giacomelli is available every Sunday from 12pm to 3pm. It costs S$138++ with free flow Prosecco, beer, Aperol Spritz and soft drinks, S$158++ with free flow Taittinger Champagne or Franciacorta, Aperol Spritz, and selected wines and cocktails, and S$98++ for free flow soft drinks, juices, coffee and tea. Children dine at S$38++ (3-5 years old) or S$68++ (6-11 years old).

Gemma Taste of Tuscany Italian Sunday Brunch

Taste of Tuscany Sunday Fiorentina Brunch at GEMMA

il Lido Group’s modern Italian steakhouse GEMMA is best known for offering up some of the finest large format Fiorentina steaks this side of the planet. Earlier this year it launched its exquisite Taste of Tuscany Sunday Fiorentina Brunch, further cementing its name as a fine bastion of contemporary Tuscan gastronomy.

GEMMA’s Taste of Tuscany Sunday brunch is not buffet-style. Instead its a fully-fledged brunch tasting set menu – you’re looking at three appetisers, two pasta courses, a main, and dessert – complete with proper table side service that gives guests a delicious snapshot of its creative kitchen can do with top-quality ingredients from Italy and around the world.

During our visit our appetisers of a house-made Challans duck prosciutto, yellowfin tuna tartare and an elevated Caesar salad went down a treat. Those who love their pasta will certainly enjoy the Orecchiette Al Torchio with scampi and eggplant caponata, as well as the Hand Rolled Trofie, served as a cacio e pepe but with a smattering of roasted Piedmont hazelnuts for nuttiness and crunch.

Of course, not forgetting the main of 30 Day, Dry-Aged T-Bone Fiorentina Steak, accompanied by sides of whited Agria potato and grilled wild broccoli. And for dessert, a delicate Filo Pastry Cannelloni.

GEMMA’s brunch tasting menu comes along with free flow Prosecco and Tuscan wine as well, which is really the proper way to enjoy a taste of Tuscany.

The Taste of Tuscany Sunday Fiorentina Brunch at GEMMA is available every Sunday from 12pm to 2.30pm, and comes at the price of S$158++ per person.

Osteria BBR by Alain Ducasse Italian Sunday Brunch Spread

Brunch Della Domenica at Osteria BBR by Alain Ducasse

Italian restaurant Osteria BBR by Alain Ducasse in Singapore’s most iconic heritage property Raffles Hotel Singapore recently refreshed its Sunday brunch experience. It’s now free-flow ala carte, which basically means you get to pick from its brunch menu and order unlimited portions of whatever catches your fancy… within two hours, at least.

Curated by Chef de Cuisine Natalino Ambra, the epicurean Brunch Della Domenica (Sunday brunch) experience at Osteria BBR essentially puts together a goodly selection of ever-popular favourites from its regular a la carte menu as well as several brunch exclusives.

Not visited Osteria BBR before? Its Sunday brunch is really a good way to try some of Chef Natalino’s vaunted dishes that are so culinarily expressive of the Italian Riviera. Try for example antipasti such as the Apulian Burrata, served alongside eggplant caponata, or Polpo, a perfectly grilled tentacle of octopus on a bed of potato foam.

Or avail yourself to their famed pizzas. The Margherita con Bufalo DOP is a faithful recreation to the Napoli pie that so earned the heart of the queen that whose name it now carries, while the spicy ‘nduja in the Calabrese will please those who like it a little fiery.

Be sure though to go for the brunch exclusive that is the egg-based Uovo Strapazzato.

Another great reason to pick this particular Sunday brunch? Why, options for free-flow Billecart-Salmon champagne, including one that includes that oh-so-luxurious Billecart-Salmon NV Brut Rose!

Brunch Della Domenica at Osteria BBR by Alain Ducasse is available every Sunday from 12pm to 3pm. Three packages are available: S$168++ per guest for Brunch ‘Roma’ (free flow wines, selection of cocktails, soft drinks, coffee and tea), S$198++ for Brunch ‘Venezia’ (Brunch Roma + NV Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve), and S$228++ for Brunch ‘Milano’ ((Brunch Venezia + NV Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose).

Osteria BBR by Alain Ducasse | 161 Beach Rd, Raffles Singapore, Singapore 189673 (Google Maps link) | 12pm to 2.30pm and 6pm to 9.45pm Thursdays to Mondays; closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays | osteriabbr.com.sg | 6337 1886
