The City of Swan in Western Australia is set to entice Singaporeans to visit The Swan Valley, a region bursting with bountiful produce, artisanal goods, and award-winning wines and spirits.

Swan Valley in Western Australia, located just 30 minutes from the city of Perth, is a favourite travel destination for many Singaporeans looking for a quick getaway. There are many reasons why the region is so incredibly attractive – a mere five hours by flight gets you to a region that is simply bursting with bountiful produce, artisanal goods, as well as award-winning wines, spirits, cider and beer.

And for many of us, it’s a chance to visit family living and studying in Perth too.

But if you’ve yet set foot to the nearest winemaking region to Singapore, the City of Swan is inviting travellers to come visit. This week the city is headed to Singapore to remind Singaporeans of the many reasons to drop into The Swan Valley.

The Swan Valley - wine tasting lifestyle

One of the biggest reasons, especially if you’re a wine lover? The region is home to around 50 wineries, many of them award-winning. Even a day trip allows you to visit the tasting rooms of wineries like Nikola Estate, John Kosivich Wines, Sitella, Olive Farm Wines and Pinelli Estate to try the region’s iconic Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Chenin Blanc wines. Even better, many of these wine estates are home to top-class restaurants – such as Mandoon Estate, Sandalford Wines, and Riverbank Estate – so you get to dine very well too.

Dotted throughout the wine region is also many artisanal gourmet producers. Visitors can feast on nougat from Mondo Nougat, nuts by Morish Nuts, or sample some excellent honey from The House of Honey. There are various experience trails so you can explore the rest of the region such as its breweries, cideries and distilleries.

“Visitors can immerse themselves in the beautiful Swan Valley, where friendly, passionate locals welcome you to create treasured memories and have a Western Australian ‘Walking on a Dream’ experience, without having to drive for hours out of the city,” said City of Swan Mayor David Lucas.

Swan Valley - food and wine

“Singaporeans were among the first international visitors to return to the Swan Valley when Western Australia reopened its borders in March 2022,” Mayor Lucas added. “They were eager to experience nature, farm stays and of course, stock up on our award-winning wines and the last of the season’s coveted table grapes.”

Looking to be among the next to visit The Swan Valley?
