Maker’s Mark ties up with 16 Singapore cocktail bars for Marked by Maker’s, a month-long campaign this September promoting reimagined bourbon-based classic cocktails.

The Whisky Sour. The Old Fashioned. The Manhattan.

These classic cocktails all employ the use of American whiskey – and almost always bourbon – in their making, their recipes enshrined in cocktail books of old and are pretty much sacrosanct.

Or are they?

To challenge convention, Maker’s Mark has, here in Singapore, tied up with bartenders from some of the Lion City’s well-loved cocktail bars to shake things up and reimagine what we’ve held inviolable about our favourite bourbon-based cocktails. For the month of September, Marked by Maker’s will see a total of 16 venues across Singapore will offer their own take on some of the most iconic whisky-based cocktail serves for a total of 31 Marked by Maker’s cocktails.

Which means, of course, many Maker’s Mark-based tipples to sample. For example, 28 HongKong Street’s Yvonne Chong will be offering her Popcorn Old Fashioned and a Strawberry Shortcake Sour, while Marcus Lee of LUMO Bar & Restaurant has concocted a dessert-inspired Banoffee Old Fashioned. Then there’s Jay Gray and JoJo of Sago House, who have teamed up to create the cacao- and banana-infused Improved Highball as well as a Corn Cup Old Fashioned that’s inspired by the sweet corn snack you find at your local pasar malam.

And be sure to drop by newly-opened four-storied cocktail venue White Shades, where Bai Jia Wei has put together Mulled, his twist on mulled wine, and Simply Beauty, a coconut and lychee tea-accented highball. Speaking of which, either 22 or 29 September is a good time head down to White Shades, where Maker’s Mark is also hosting a pop-up where you get to enjoy Bai’s cocktails while listening in to homegrown DJ AKA Sounds, catch live demonstrations of wax casting by The Imperial Smithster and watch how waste plastic scraps get transformed into (far more useful) coasters.

“With this Marked by Maker’s campaign, our intention is to curate lasting memories that not only capture the core of Maker’s Mark but also honour the artistry of bartending and the sense of camaraderie within the community of tastemakers, experience seekers and cocktail aficionados,” said Andrew Pang, Beam Suntory Brand Ambassador.
