French luxury house and crystalware maker Baccarat partners award-winning cocktail bar Manhattan for ‘Facets of Joy’ to present their latest Autumn/Winter collection.

Of all the places that a luxury crystal maker can pick to launch its newest collection, we weren’t quite expecting a cocktail bar. But French crystal maker Baccarat has chosen Manhattan, the award-winning New York-inspired cocktail bar in Conrad Singapore Orchard, to unveil its Autumn/Winter 2023 collection.

And it is sheer brilliance.

Baccarat bar glasses

But maybe we shouldn’t be too surprised. Baccarat was first founded in the 18th century when King Louis XV granted a royal warrant for it to build a facility in the town of Baccarat to supply fine glassware to his court. And his first commission? A set of glasses, ostensibly to drink wine from. Over the years Baccarat crystal – from stemware and chandeliers to vases and perfume bottles – have garnered a sterling reputation for quality and a symbol of French art de vivre.

Such as the latest Baccarat AW2023 collection. You’re looking at a fabulously opulent range of crystal products designed to dazzle the onlooker, as the brand puts it, “a kaleidoscope of radiant reflections that highlight the brilliance of Baccarat’s dedication to craftsmanship”. Among the collection is its ongoing collaboration with renowned designer Philippe Starck with the Talleyrand by Starck collection, the Nomadic Baby Candy Light, new releases for the Everyday Set II glassware meant for daily use, as well as new tumblers in the Harmonie Colors of Joy collection.

BACCARAT barware

For those who love to splash the cash to beautify the home, there are decorative pieces such as quaint additions to Baccarat’s Pokémon range – with an Eevee and Jigglypuff joining a new take on Pikachu, if you need know – a range of Christmas ornaments and the Dragon Zodiac 2024 collection. And those among us who do indulge in a drink or two at home? Consider the the new Louxor range featuring a fresh take on barware by Thomas Bastide, or its Baijiu Celebration Set if you’re into that fiery Chinese spirit.

Which brings us to the Baccarat tie up with Manhattan. To celebrate the launch of its new collection, Baccarat has worked with the cocktail bar for four specially-crafted, limited-time cocktails. Served up in fine Baccarat glassware too, no less.

Baccarat x Manhattan Bar - Silver Lining

There’s the citrusy yet crisp Silver Lining, a clever hybrid of a gin Martini and Corpse Reviver No.2, served up in the Baccarat Fiora Tumbler, and Karwinskii Snapper, what is effectively an inventive clarified take on the Bloody Mary, which comes in the Baccarat Harmonie Highball.

Those with a slighter sweeter tooth are likely to be mesmerised by the Discoberry served in the enchanting Baccarat Harcourt 1841 Glass; a fruity rum-based tipple that’s a twist on the classic Piña Colada but with notes of strawberry and peach. Otherwise there’s the spirit-forward Scarlet XO, a champagne-based cocktail laced with whiskey and cognac, accentuated with notes of spiced pear.

These four cocktail creations – and their paired stemware! – are available from Manhattan from 26 October 2023 to 30 November 2023, so head down now for a taste while you can. As for Baccarat’s AW2023 collection, you can catch a glimpse at its two boutiques, the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and Takashimaya Department Store B1.
