THAIFEX-HOREC Asia 2024, which will take place 6-8 March in Bangkok, is set to be a groundbreaking HoReCa trade show for the region.
Trade shows are returning to the region as the spectre of the global pandemic gradually recedes. For those in the Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe (HoReCa) trade, one of the biggest exhibitions coming up is THAIFEX-HOREC Asia 2024 in Bangkok.
Organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC), and Koelnmesse — the team renowned for THAIFEX-ANUGA Asia — the inaugural edition of THAIFEX-HOREC Asia will see some 300 global brands from over countries participate in the show. With the theme of “Shaping The Future of HoReCa”, the show looks to attract hotel operators and professionals in the food and beverage industries to converge and interact over the latest trends and innovations.
THAIFEX-HOREC Asia 2024 occupyies a space of 27,000 square metres and will offer six different sectors — Contactless, Digital Guest Experience, Energy Efficiency, Food Waste, Plant Based Menu, Sustainability — each of which are directly relevant to prevailing industry themes. Organisers expect some 20,000 trade visitors from across the region and the world to descend on the show, including some 500 hosted buyers.
Numbers bear witness. According to a report by the Business Research Company, the Asia Pacific was the largest region for the bars and cafes market in 2022. The alcohol beverage market for Asia-Pacific is projected to register a CAGR of 5.22% over the next five years, while the commercial bar equipment Market size is expected to rise at a CAGR of 4.8% by 2033.
Thailand wants a piece of the action.
“After the COVID-19 situation has eased, trade and tourism activities have returned to normal, and we see the revival of businesses related to the HoReCa industry, including hotels, restaurants, and catering. The demands in this industry are significantly increasing, and from this positive trend, it is a great opportunity for Thailand,” said Natiya Suchinda, Deputy Director-General of Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion.
“Based on the past success of collaboration of the three organising parties in organising THAIFEX–ANUGA Asia, we are confident that THAIFEX–HOREC Asia will unlock the future of the HoReCa industry and establish Thailand as the centre of HoReCa businesses of Asia.”
