Modern design-led hotel Artyzen Singapore, recently opened on Cuscaden Road in Singapore’s prime Orchard Road precinct, impresses with its pet-friendly garden suites and luxury resort-like spa experiences.

Dog-owners who love their staycations, take note. You’ll want to pencil in a stay at Artyzen Singapore.

Hong Kong-based Artyzen Hospitality Group’s debut property in the Lion City, Artyzen Singapore is a stunning 142-key property that opens up a goodly number of its rooms and suites for those wanting a stay with their dogs.

Artyzen Singapore officially opened late December last year on Cuscaden Road in the quieter end of Orchard Road, situated right opposite similarly spanking-new Singapore EDITION and also a stone’s throw from freshly-refurbished Conrad Singapore Orchard (which used to be Regent Singapore). The hotel is located near enough to the heart of Singapore’s premier shopping district to be convenient for the shopping-mad, yet retains a certain serenity and exclusivity for those who prefer a little more privacy.

Artyzen Singapore - Lobby

Especially when you have a dog with you.

Artzyen Singapore offers a total of eight different room configurations. All of them come with balconies, perfect for guests who’d like some fresh air during their stay. There is the entry-level Deluxe Balcony and more prestigious Premium Balcony, both of which come in at 42-28sqm. Then there’s the more expansive Grand Terrace, a luxuriously expansive retreat at 89sqm which comes with a semi-private garden.

And while its opulent Penthouse at 448sqm is the stuff of dreams, Artzyen Singapore’s Terrace Suite is really where it’s at. We had the opportunity to stay in this lavish room with our dog, and came away truly impressed.

Our suite came artfully and tastefully designed, its stark Art Deco elements of given pops of colour by lush brightly-coloured carpets and eye-catching cushions. Contemporary Southeast Asian design and colour influences are there for those who care to look, such as some of the rattan-like furniture and abstract local motifs subtly emblazoned throughout. Free standing vases and plants add character.

Artyzen Singapore - Terrace-Suite - Living Room

Whoever designed the room’s lighting – from the overhead recesses to the accent lights around various fixtures – should be given an award; it’s subtle enough to accentuate mood and warmth, yet powerful enough for proper illumination.

Like all suite types, it comes with different spaces for dining, relaxing, and sleeping. The living space – complete with a 65-inch LED TV and a luxurious couch – is great for chilling out, and even comes with a proper dining table and seats for meals. Then there’s the king-sized bed in the adjoining bedroom.

The bathroom is amazing. It features an open freestanding bathtub, flanked on one side by a spacious wardrobe, and the restroom, shower and double vanity on the other. Clever modular design means you can use sliding doors to further partition spaces to facilitate or restrict movement, particularly if you need to keep your pooch to certain areas.

Amenities are top-notch, as expected. A Nespresso machine is conveniently on hand for those who require their java, while a powerful Dyson hairdryer in the bathroom does a wonderful job in mere minutes. Shower amenities come from the house of Heeley, created exclusively for Artyzen.

Artyzen Singapore - Terrace Suite Garden

Soaring floor-to-ceiling windows allow plenty of natural light if you so prefer, opening out to the spectacular garden terrace for which this suite type is named. There’s enough greenery here that Rover would spend plenty of time – and expend some pee – sniffing around while you relax in the terrace’s outdoor pavilion over some wine.

Chances are you won’t want to leave your suite. But you should, because we highly recommend signing up for a relaxing spa treatment, offered in a nature-inspired spa facility with dedicated treatment rooms on its wellness floor. There’s also a rooftop swimming pool – spectacularly cantilevered on one end for an unparalleled view of the city skyline – that’s good for short laps or just soaking in the sun.

Cafe Quenino - outdoor

We didn’t have the opportunity to visit contemporary Asian restaurant Quenino by Victor Liong this stay – it was closed on the days we were there – but based on the quality of the grub we tasted at Cafe Quenino, we’d need to rectify that. And while pets are unfortunately not allowed in the hotel’s indoor public spaces – aside from the lobby and lift areas, and of course, your room – you can dine outdoors at Cafe Quenino with your furry friend.

Verdict

Artyzen Singapore is a stunning verdant oasis of a lifestyle hotel that delivers a cosy, boutique feel despite its luxury cachet and subtle prestigious trappings. Facilities are new and top-notch, while its off-the-beaten-track location proffers some quiet and peace. It is also one of the few hotels in Singapore that truly caters to dog owners, offering not only a comprehensive pet-friendly Fur-tastic Getaway package, but also an understanding pet policy with no size or weight limit and even allows up to two dogs for the Terrace Suite.
