Oishii Japan, ASEAN’s largest dedicated showcase of Japanese products and services for the F&B industry, will be back again for its third edition and will be held from 16 to 18 October 2014 at Suntec Singapore. Targeted at F&B professionals, chefs, restaurateurs, hoteliers, importers and distributors, retailers as well as new business owners and investors in the food business, the three-day Oishii Japan 2014 will see a large number of exhibitors present Japanese food and beverages, including the finest seasonal produce, specialities from various prefectures as well as related equipment and machinery from all over Japan. But for those who are wondering what the event has to do with this site, I’ve only one word for you.

Sake.

In fact, lots and lots of sake.

Oishii Japan last year – which attracted close to 6,000 trade and public visitors from 24 countries – featured almost 10 exhibitors representing some of the best sake breweries from all around Japan. In fact Ayuchi Momose (pictured), a trained sake sommelier who’s even appointed by Japan’s Sake Brewers Association as a “Sake Samurai”, was in town to promote Japanese sake. The owner of Hong Kong’s Sake Bar GINN even guided daily sake tastings for visitors to help spread the appreciation for the traditional Japanese rice spirit that’s seeing decline in its domestic market. While the exact event schedules and exhibitor list for Oishii Japan 2014 has not been finalized, we’re pretty certain sake will continue to play a large role at the exhibition this year.

If you’re a distributor looking for sakes to represent in these markets, or an on-premise establishment or an off-premise retailer looking for sakes to stock, for goodness sake visit Oishii Japan. The first two days of the event (16-17 October) are only open to trade visitors, with the final day open to the general public.
