We’ve just got word that East Imperial Gin Jubilee is happening this year, and the event, which will take place from 8-12 September, will again see a bevy of Singapore’s top bartenders vie for top honours for the second year as they put out their best gin & tonic cocktails for partygoers to vote on.

For those five days, you’re encouraged to visit some of the island’s best drinking holes and put their bartenders’ g&t making skills to the test. We’re usually not the sort to pick favourites, but we will – you might do well to sample the g&ts by: Hilda Tan of The Spiffy Dapper, Anti:dote‘s Tom Hogan, Mark Thomas of Bacchanalia, and The Secret Mermaid‘s Kevin Petrie. East Imperial Gin Jubilee’s media partner Timeout Singapore has an excellent roundup of the g&ts on offer during the challenge.

Last year the winner of the inaugural East Imperial Jubilee Cup was Mark Thomas from Bacchanalia.

Some of the gins to be featured during the event: Hendrick’s, Death’s Door, St George’s Terroir, Tanqueray, Greenhook, and Monkey 47, among others.

Hendrick’s Gin will be participating in a big way for the Jubilee, and will see its gin used by The Library‘s Nicholas Quattroville and Luke Whearty of Oxwell & Co for their gin & tonics. The gin brand will also be hosting a pop-up bar on 5, 6, 12 and 13 September on Ann Siang Road outside Oxwell & Co, as well as another on Keong Saik Road on 12 September – in case visiting a regular bar is too pedestrian for you.

Here’s the lowdown of Hendrick’s Gin‘s involvement in East Imperial Gin Jubilee:

If you do take part in this “Great Singapore Gin Roundup”, do remember to visit East Imperial’s Facebook page to vote for your favourite g&t. Otherwise, you can also Instagram your choice with the hashtags #GinJubilee2014 and #EastImperial, as well as that of the participating bar.

May the best g&t win.
