The Macallan unveils The Macallan Experience in Singapore, converting part of Raffles Hotel Arcade into a semi-permanent pop-up space showcasing the whisky drinking high life.

As if 6-starred luxury hotel Raffles Hotel Singapore isn’t already dripping with pomp and grandeur, The Macallan has gone one step further. The Scotch whisky brand has unveiled The Macallan Experience, converting a large swathe of shop spaces in the Raffles Arcade for an experiential semi-permanent pop-up space that brings to life the world of whisky.

Running from 26 October 2020 to 10 February 2021, The Macallan Experience consists of multiple experiential zones where whisky aficionados and connoisseurs alike can explore the world of The Macallan. It consists of various exhibits that take you through the whisky making journey – aside from learning about the commitment and dedication through stories in the making of whisky, there’s even a zone where you can take in the sights and sounds of the making of the oak casks that are used in the making of The Macallan’s whiskies.

The key highlight of The Macallan Experience is the Sensory Cinema, which brings visitors through a state-of-the-art 6D short film a miniature cinema setup as part of a whisky tasting. But whisky collectors are most likely to be blown away by the archival gallery, an ultimate showcase of some of The Macallan’s oldest and rarest whiskies. You may remember, for example, The Macallan in Lalique Six Pillars Collection, or the Master of Photography series that featuring some of the work of famous photographers such as Elliott Erwitt and Annie Leibovitz.

But a true Macallan experience isn’t complete without a place to imbibe in Macallan whiskies. The final stop in the Macallan Experience is the whisky bar and lounge, where a wide range of Macallan single malts – and Macallan whisky-based cocktails – can be sampled for a price.

You’re not just looking at the core Macallan range, mind you. You can get to try some of its rarer and pricier expressions too. So if you’re looking to buy, for example, the Macallan M but am unsure you can drop in for a taste before committing.

There’s also a special VIP dining room adjoining the whisky lounge that The Macallan and Raffles Hotel Singapore has converted for exclusive dining experiences. The private VIP Dining Room will, over the course of the pop-up, offer a curated and exclusive menu by award-winning chefs from Raffles Hotel Singapore establishments such as La Dame de Pic, 藝 yì by Jereme Leung, and Butchers Block, to pair with different Macallan whiskies.

“For the first time, we can reveal and share stories of The Mcallan in a truly immersive, inspiring and memorable way. The Macallan Experience is far more than a brand exhibition or tasting experience; it has been curated entirely to bring our stories and heritage to life through a narrative that takes drinkers into the depths of The Macallan, revealing what makes it the exceptional single malt it is today,” says Francois Saurel, Regional Managing Director for Asia Pacific for The Macallan.

“This unique immersive experience also allows us to share stories from around the world which demonstrate the power of bravery and courage in shaping lives, experiences and progression,” Saurel added.

The Macallan at Raffles Hotel Singapore opens from 26 October 2020, while The Macallan Experience featuring the Sensory Cinema opens for a limited period from 26 October 2020 to 10 February 2021. For more information and booking details, visit
