Nutmeg & Clove launches Tingkat & Tipples, its weekend brunch offering that combines a melange of Asian-inspired eats and classic cocktails.

There are many things to love about Nutmeg & Clove at its new Purvis Street venue – it’s more conveniently located, and a lot brighter and cheerier while retaining its convivial and casual vibes. The food’s more gastropub than pub too, even as it continues to churn out some of the most technically-competent cocktail drinks that part of town.

Here’s one more reason to visit – it recently launched Tingkat & Tipples, its boozy weekend brunch programme that puts together their fusion Asian stamp on brunch dishes, and a spread of familiar cocktail favourites.

Tingkat & Tipples can be enjoyed in a couple of ways. You can order the dishes a la carte; menu items include a delectable Otak Sando, crispy Chicken & Fries, or even Curry & Roti, which comes as roti jala and a pork curry. Those with local cravings may want to opt for Teo Chew Lor Bak, the braised pork belly served with chee cheong fun a family recipe of Nutmeg & Clove owner Colin Chia.

There’s the Foie Gras Sando too which we absolutely love; it’s essentially a decadent take of the local breakfast favourite of kaya toast except it eschews butter for foie gras.

The other way to enjoy Tingkat & Tipples – especially if you’ve come with a friend – is as a set that serves two. There’s ‘Shelley’s Tingkat’ at S$68++, which comes with N&C Salad, Otak Sando, Egg Salad Sando, Chicken & Fries, Cold Noodles, Teochew Lor Bak, Curry & Roti, and Dessert. The other more decadent package is ‘Pan’s Tingkat’ at S$90++, featuring N&C Salad, Foie Gras Sando, Otak Sando, Butler’s Steak, Tiger Prawns, Truffle Cold Noodles, Curry & Roti, and Dessert.

And of course there are the drinks. Sure, you can get cocktails at S$15++ each – you’re looking at crowd favourites such as Bloody Mary, Yuzu Highball, Daiquiri, Lychee Martini, Sangria, Smoky Old Fashioned and Espresso Martini.

But the free flow option is where it’s at – just S$58++ per person gets you unlimited cocktails, beer, wine, and bubbles for 100 minutes. And if you love your champagne, top up a further S$50 to change your bubbles to unlimited pours of Ruinart.

Just don’t expect to remember much from the rest of your weekend.

Nutmeg & Clove’s Tingkat & Tipples takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm to 4.30 pm. Reservations highly recommended.
