Ready-to-drink bottled cocktail brand Temple Street hits the street running with four offerings in its debut range.

If there’s one thing that circuit breaker taught Singaporeans, it’s that we get really thirsty at home. Alcohol delivery sales across all categories – wines, beers, sake, or spirits – pretty much soared during this period. But one trend in particular stood out – bottled cocktails. Not being able to visit our favourite bars in one of the most burgeoning cocktail scenes in the world for months on end obviously rankled, so when many cocktail bars started to offer their creations for delivery and takeaway demand was overwhelming.

Joseph Barratt, founder and CEO of local independent brewery Trouble Brewing, noticed this trend and believed it an opportunity. The result was Temple Street, a range of premium artisanal bottled cocktails at a wallet-friendly price.

“The idea for Temple Street was conceived at the height of Singapore’s circuit breaker, when we were selling tens of thousands of imported cocktails,” shared Joseph Barratt. “The experience gave us great insight into consumers’ preferences for ready-to-pour options, but we struggled to find a local supplier that covered our need for quality, affordability and production capacity.”

“So, we worked with some of the best experts in Singapore to produce hand-crafted cocktails, creating an old-meets-new selection of drinks that blends tradition and modernity in all the best ways,” added Barratt.

He tapped renowned cocktail consultancy Proof & Company, and got its Creative Director Jason Williams to lend his mixology expertise for Temple Street cocktail range.

Temple Street Espresso Martini
The Temple Street Espresso Martini combines Tried & True wheat vodka, rich espresso, brown sugar, coffee liqueur and just a touch of spice.

The first four cocktails of Temple Street’s debut range are mostly classics – there’s the Old Fashioned, Negroni, Espresso Martini, and the Garden Party. The Old Fashioned is really a rum Old Fashioned, with agave nectar and hazelnut liqueur providing nutty sweetness. Their Negroni is made slightly lighter than the average classic cocktail, with a touch of chocolate liqueur to help round out a Negroni’s signature bitterness. Those who love their Espresso Martini will enjoy this version; it’s thankfully less sweet than usual and has some wood spice notes for complexity. Then there’s the refreshing vodka-based Garden Party that’s fruity yet spirit-forward; think of this as the grown-up version of a Lychee Martini.

Barratt said Temple Street was created to be commercially distributed and accessible, at a quality usually reserved for the region’s top bars. More Temple Street bottled cocktail variants will be introduced in due time, he added.

These ready-to-drink Temple Street bottled cocktails come in at 100ml per bottle for the perfect single serve, with each bottle retailing at S$11 per bottle. Temple Street offers island-wide, same-day delivery for all orders placed before 5pm (Sun-Weds) and 7pm (Thurs-Sat). Delivery is free for orders above S$60.
