Casual burger bar Wildfire Burgers launches its latest seasonal burger, the Wildfire Korean Army Stew Burger, available from now till end May 2021.

One of the reasons we look forward to the start of every month? The seasonal burgers from burger joint Wildfire Burgers. If you’re a bonafide Hallyu devotee – that is, a fan of Korean culture – their latest limited-edition burger is likely to leave enraptured.

Their latest seasonal creation takes inspiration from budae jjigae, or Korean army stew. For those not familiar with the dish, it’s a fusion stew that largely incorporates processed food you tend to find in cans – spam, sausages, and baked beans, among others – as well as classic Korean ingredients such as kimchi and gochujang.

Wildfire Korean Army Stew Burger
The latest seasonal Wildfire Korean Army Stew Burger is heaped with ingredients and is the burger joint’s most stacked burger to date.

The Wildfire Korean Army Stew Burger puts together all those ingredients and more, resulting in a heaping stack that promises messy eating. Aside from its classic USDA Angus beef patty, you’re looking at the likes of Korean spam, sliced Vienna sausages, baked beans, scallions, housemade kimchi, grilled king trumpet and Champignon mushrooms, and gochujang butter all sandwiched in a toasted brioche bun. It’s also Wildfire Burgers’ largest burger to date.

For those unfamiliar with budae jjigae, Wildfire Burger’s new seasonal burger can sound absolutely ridiculous. But if you’re a big fan of Korean flavours – or if you love salty processed meats – this burger is going to be right up your alley.

To up the Korean gastronomic ante, for this period Wildfire Burgers is also offering a limited-time Kimchi Cheese Fries. Think nacho cheese fries, but an utterly moreish Korean version with kimchi instead.

Hallan-San Jeju Soju
The Halla-San Jeju Soju is the best-selling soju on Jeju Island.

As with its previous seasonal burger – the Wildfire Forest Mushroom Cheeseburger – the burger joint has put together a drinks pairing. This time it’s the Halla-San Jeju Soju, an ultra-premium soju made on the spectacular South Korean island destination of Jeju suing natural alkaline rock-filtered water that gives it a very clean-tasting profile. There’s a slight and very welcome sweetness to the soju that helps moderate all that salt in your budae jjigae burger.

The Wildfire Korean Army Stew Burger is available at Wildfire Burgers for the month of May 2021 for dine-in, delivery, and takeaway at the price of S$15. The Kimchi Cheese Fries go for S$7 ala carte (S$5 if ordered with the seasonal burger), while the Halla-San Jeju Soju is S$25 ala carte (S$15 if ordered with the burger).
