Monkey Shoulder’s new ‘Don’t Let The Grind Get You Down’ campaign names its cheeky Zoomtail canned cocktails after virtual conference call jargon.

We’ve all been there – stuck in a dreary, draggy virtual Zoom meeting going absolutely nowhere and wishing it’ll end soon. Considering current lockdown work-from-home practices, some of us may even be on one right now.

And like the tongue-in-cheek brand that it is, Monkey Shoulder is poking fun at the pain and monotony of using these remote work and virtual meeting platforms. The William Grant & Sons-owned blended malt whisky brand’s latest campaign is called ‘Don’t Let The Grind Get You Down’, and has launched a limited edition series of canned highball cocktails – collectively called Zoomtails – that cheekily named after overused conference call and online meeting jargon.

There’s Is Everyone Here? – made with Monkey Shoulder whisky, sarsaparilla, and spice – a phrase you pretty much always hear at the start of a conference call or online meeting. Or how about Low Hanging Fruit, a tropical creation of Monkey Shoulder whisky, tropical fruits, and ice cream soda? Otherwise there’s The Best Practice, a fruity concoction of Monkey Shoulder whisky, soursop and raspberry – because all bosses want us to learn from the best.

But we reserved our biggest chuckles for You’re On Mute, because there’s always that one clueless colleague flailing soundlessly in one corner of our computer screen.

Monkey Shoulder Zoomtails
These Monkey Shoulder Zoomtails are cheekily named after overused phrases one hears on virtual meeting or conference calls.

“As we get older, life can seem a little monotonous with what seems like a never-ending to-do list of responsibilities and life admin. The work and stress involved in exciting milestone moments like getting a job, preparing for a house or even planning a wedding can sometimes overshadow the fun of achieving them. But, at Monkey Shoulder, we believe that approaching life’s milestones shouldn’t mean having less fun,” shared Samuel Ng, Regional Brand Ambassador for Monkey Shoulder.

“With the Don’t Let The Grind Get You Down campaign, we want to mix things up and inject some fun into common complaints, while bringing a little playful escapism to the stress, tedium and societal pressures of work,” Ng added.

Not that we are encouraging drinking during office hours, but if you’re looking to get your paws on these special Monkey Shoulder zoomtails, you can place your orders from 16 August to 4 October via Monkey Shoulder’s ‘Don’t Let The Grind Get You Down’ campaign microsite. The Zoomtail cans are packaged in special boxes and delivered ice-cold to your door to provide some much-needed relief from yet another meeting that could have been an email.

For some work day distraction, the site also offers Mixcloud playlists to help drown out the background, as well as cocktail recipes in case you need a mid-day pick-me-up. But you might not want to let boss know about Monkey Shoulder’s multi-player card game – Cards for Hilarity – you’re playing while the office town hall is going on.
