Demerara Distillers picks SPUN Spirits as official distributor for its flagship El Dorado rum range in Singapore.
Fledgling local startup spirits distributor SPUN Spirits has been appointed by Demerara Distillers as the official distributor for its El Dorado rum brand in Singapore. While El Dorado rums have been available in Singapore for a number of years through unofficial channels, this is the first time Guyana-based rum producer has identified an official representative to represent its products in Southeast Asia.
One of the largest corporations in Guyana, Demerara Distillers was once the world’s second largest producer of rum. Its history goes back to 1670, when distilling was first introduced to the South American country. Today Demerara Distillers is best known for its highly sought-after range of award-winning El Dorado rums, leveraging on a combination of tradition, modern knowledge and technology, and the use of possibly the oldest and original rum stills left remaining in the world.
The Caribbean rums of Guyana are fruity, rich, and full-bodied, a hallmark of the region surrounding the famed Demerara River which is well-known for producing some of the best sugar cane in the world.
The El Dorado rum range currently available through SPUN Spirits are:

- El Dorado 12 Year Old
- El Dorado 15 Year Old
- El Dorado 21 Year Old

The El Dorado rums can be purchased in Singapore directly from the SPUN Spirits website. They can also be found in specialty rum bars and cocktail bars such as Lime House Caribbean Restaurant & Bar, 28 HKS, Low Tide, Sago House, The Bar at 15 Stamford, and Tippling Club.
