Nutmeg & Clove celebrates its 8th anniversary with four exciting guest shifts across the month of May.

Award-winning local cocktail bar Nutmeg & Clove will mark an important milestone by celebrating its 8th anniversary this May. It’s a particularly special year too – the cocktail bar made a triumphant return to the recently-announced Asia’s 50 Best Bars list this year at No.36. During the ceremony, Nutmeg & Clove founder Colin Chia even landed the Roku Industry Icon Award for his contributions to the regional cocktail bar scene.

And 8, of course, is a very lucky number for what is an Asia-based cocktail bar with a strong Singapore theme.

This year’s anniversary celebrations also comes after a couple of pandemic years that has seen Singapore’s dining and nightlife scene heavily restricted. Nutmeg & Clove’s 7th anniversary celebrations were effectively virtual guest shifts, with cocktails from well-known award-winning bartenders from around the world featured.

Its 6th anniversary, which happened over the height of the pandemic, didn’t even happen.

Nutmeg Clove 8th anniversary

For Nutmeg’s 8th anniversary, the bar will see four cocktail guest shifts take place over the month of May. The celebrations include three guest shift sessions from visiting bartenders from Mexico City’s Licorería Limantour, Bangkok’s Find The Locker Room and Maybe Sammy from Sydney, as well as one featuring its bartending alumni.

They are:

  • [Wednesday 4th and Friday 5th May 2022] Licorería Limantour Takeover  featuring Benjamin Padrón of Mexico City’s Licorería Limantour in conjunction with Cinco de Mayo
  • [Tuesday 10th May 2022] Sawadee Takeover featuring Ronnaporn “Neung” Kanivichaporn and Ping Rojanat Chareonsri of Find The Locker Room Bangkok
  • [Tuesday 17 May 2022] Maybe Sammy Takeover featuring Martin Hudak and Paolo Maffieti of Sydney’s Maybe Sammy
  • [Tuesday 24 May 2022] Reunion Party featuring Nutmeg & Clove alumni Bannie Kang, Jayden Ong and Yue Shuen

“It’s unbelievable to be celebrating our 8th anniversary. We are very grateful to be able to survive the past two years, and now have an opportunity to celebrate this milestone with eight world class bartenders,” said Colin Chia, founder of Nutmeg & Clove. “Particular thanks to my family at Nutmeg & Clove, a super strong team that have helped establish us on Asia’s 50 Best Bars again this year. You are all my family,” Chia added.

“And now let the party begin!” declares Chia.
