Resorts World Sentosa will be presenting Wine Pinnacle Awards 2022 from 28 October to 1 November 2022 with all-new programming.
Wine competition Wine Pinnacle Awards – the world’s first wine awards based solely on nominations first launched in 2019 by Resorts World Sentosa – returns this year after a two year pandemic hiatus.
Wine Pinnacle Awards 2022 will again recognise the finest wines the world has to offer judged by an expert jury comprising some of the most qualified wine professionals. You’re looking at a panel studded with Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, as well as various wine luminaries guided by an illustrious five-member technical committee headed by Ms Jeannie Cho Lee, the first Asian Master of Wine.
What also sets the Wine Pinnacle Awards apart is that – unlike most other wine competitions – it works purely by nominations, considering wines from every region without restrictions on origin. And without entry fees, no less.
But Wine Pinnacle Awards 2022 will see altogether new programming. While the inaugural edition saw a three-day food and wine festival take place alongside the wine competition, this year it will be a four-day affair comprising of masterclasses, a wine industry symposium, and various curated wine and dine sessions that will culminate in the Wine Pinnacle Awards 2022 gala dinner and awards ceremony on 1 November 2022.
The masterclasses, which take place on 29 and 30 October, will see technical committee members and MWs Jeannie Cho Lee and Mr Doug Frost drive deeper conversations for potential investors, featuring hidden gems of the wine world including Henschke, Maison M. Chapoutier, Château Haut-Brion, and Tempos Vega Sicilia.
On 31 October and 1 November 2022, delegates of the Wine Industry Symposium will discuss a more dynamic future for the wine industry. Topics to be discussed include new areas of economic growth, as well as the impact of climate change with wine professionals from all sectors. There will also be panel discussions, featuring thought leaders such as wine author Karen MacNeil, Prue Henschke of Henschke Wines, and Jamie Ritchie, Global Chairman of Sotheby’s Wine.
Then there are the curated wine and dine sessions that will take place across Resorts World Sentosa across the entire festival. Events include special champagne brunches and bespoke dinners featuring vintages from prestigious wineries such as Château Angélus, Château Margaux and Château La Mission Haut-Brion. Even better? Expect equally fine food to accompany your fine wines. Expect guest chef appearances such as Guillaume Galliot of 3 Michelin-starred Caprice from Hong Kong, Olivier Bellin of Resort World Sentosa’s own Ocean Restaurant (he has two stars from his time at L’Auberge des Glazicks in Brittany), Arnaud Dunand Sauthier (formerly of Bangkok’s 2-starred Le Normandie, now with his newly-opened eponymous restaurant Maison Dunand), as well as Cedric Vongerichten, chef-owner of New York City’s Wayan.
