Wine bar TENUTA by Park90 features an all-Italian lineup

TENUTA by Park90 at InterContinental Singapore is a fine wine bar that explores vino from all 20 winemaking regions of Italy.

There’s a new wine bar in town! TENUTA by Park90 is the latest concept from the fine wine bar operator – which runs the original Park90 at Regent Singapore – but with a difference.

Like the Regent Singapore flagship, TENUTA isn’t a dedicated space. Instead the joint venture between InterContinental Singapore and Park90 comes alive at the hotel’s Lobby Lounge in the evenings, transitioning from a sophisticated hotel lounge serving up classy high tea experiences to, well, a sophisticated wine bar offering fine wine instead.

And not just any fine wine. Unlike its sister outlets which covers every part of the fine winemaking world, TENUTA by Park90 focuses purely on the wines of Italy. Here an oenophile or Italophile can avail themselves to over 400 different Italian wine labels, covering pretty much every winemaking region running the length and breadth of the country.

So yes, here you can expect Lagrein, Schiava and Gewurtztraminer wines from Alto Aldige as well as Pinot Grigio and Friulano-based ones from Friuli-Venezia Giulia in the north of Italy, all the way down south to Sicily for the island’s famed wines vinified from Nero d’Avola, Nerello Mascalese and Cataratto. Not forgetting classic firm Italian favourites such as Tuscany’s Chianti and Brunello, Veneto’s Amarone and Prosecco, and the Barolos of Piedmont, among so many others.

The wine programme listed more than 420 labels at its launch, with over 200 wines priced at S$100. For those looking to explore indigenous Italian grape varietals, you’ll find up to 10 such wines by the glass, as well as more premium bottles using Coravin with prices starting from S$16 a glass. And if you’re a Park90 member, you also unlock access to rare and limited release Italian wines here.

The wine list at TENUTA by Park90 is overseen by head sommelier Aleksandra Arzhakova, who recently moved to Singapore after being part of the opening team of L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon Dubai.

“Italy is one of the most diverse winemaking countries in the world with so much to offer in each of its 20 wine producing regions, such as sparkling Lambrusco from Emilia-Romagna and full-bodied red Gaglioppo from Calabria,” shares Arzhakova. “People’s palates are changing and they don’t want just strong, big wines. They’re exploring different profiles, from delicate and light to modern styles of wines. With hundreds of recognised indigenous varieties, as well as familiar international varieties such as Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, guests will always find something new to pique their interest here. I look forward to discovering these wines with them,” she adds.

For food, the wine bar offers a selection of light bites, curated from InterContinental Singapore’s flagship restaurants LUCE by Davide Giacomelli and Man Fu Yuan.

TENUTA may take up some precious real estate (see what we did there) in InterContinental Singapore’s prime lobby area. But the new wine bar – with its all-Italian focus – may just carve out a special niche for itself in Singapore’s ultra-competitive wine-drinking landscape.
