Wine Discovery Weekend returns for its 8th edition; the mini wine festival by ewineasia.com runs from 3 to 6 November 2023 this year.

Missing your wine festivals? We are too. The good news for the oenophiles among us is that Singapore-based wine importer and distributor ewineasia.com is bringing back its popular flagship event, Wine Discovery Weekend, again this year.

As with its previous editions, Wine Discover Weekend 2023 – which runs 3 to 6 November this year – will feature a slew of wine related activities including wine dinners anchored around a main wine tasting affair.

The key event, of course, is the Wine Hall Walkabout Tasting. This year it finds a new venue at Metropolitan YMCA @ Stevens, and is set to showcase over 120 wines – sourced from 36 wineries in 17 different countries around the world – with at least 11 winemakers or winery representatives coming to town to present their portfolios.

Aside from being able to sample these wines, ticket holders can also sign up – at an additional fee – for up to four themed wine masterclasses, each of which will give a deeper insight and tasting of wines from renowned wineries from across the globe. This year will see masterclasses featuring Champagne Boizel and Domaine Yves Cuilleron from France, Agustí Torelló Mata and Celler Piñol from Spain, Weingut Jurtschitsch from Austria, Quinta Do Vale Meaõ from Portugal, Gusbourne from United Kingdom, as well as Italy’s esteemed Nino Franco and Elisabetta Foradori wineries. These masterclasses will be conducted by winemakers or winery representatives – such as Max Trabitsch from Weingut Jurtschitsch and Juanjo Piñol, owner and winemaker of Celler Piñol – alongside Annette Scarfe MW, Singapore‘s first resident Master of Wine, to talk about the wines.

Wine Discovery Weekend 2023 will also see a number of wine dinners taking place that weekend. The event proper kicks off with a gala dinner on 3 November at one Michelin-starred Shisen Hanten, which comes with six wines during a pre-dinner tasting followed by another eight wines paired during an exceptional six-course Chinese dinner.

Other wine dinners include a Cave Yves Cuilleron wine dinner at Marguerite on 2 November 2023, while 4 November sees two – a Gramona wine dinner at Fleurette, a Château La Rose Bellevue and Elisabetta Foradori Wine Dinner at Siri House. Then there’s a Spanish pop-up tasting event at Tinto on 5 November.

The Wine Hall walkabout tasting costs S$79 per person (masterclasses are at an additional S$18 each), while the gala dinner costs S$268++ per person. To find out more about Wine Discovery Weekend 2023, visit www.winediscoveryweekend.com.
