Find great deals on your favourite bottles as leading wine and spirits distributor Angra hosts their highly-anticipated annual warehouse sale on 25 and 26 November 2023.

Nothing quite excites a wine lover more than when we’re searching out the best deals on our beloved wines. If you’re anything like us, we always look forward to when local wine distributors hold their annual sales so we can stock up our wine fridges for the year or cellar lauded vintages from our favourite brands at better prices.

Here’s one to drop in on – the annual Angra warehouse sale happening on 25 and 26 November. Angra Wine & Spirit is one of the leading importers and distributors of fine wine in town. They carry a good number of big names – including some of our favourite brands! – from many well-known winemaking regions across the world, but with a particular focus on Italy and France.

Angra - Tenuta di Biserno

Oenophiles will know them. Bolgheri’s Super Tuscan makers Ornellaia, for example. Or the Antinori family’s Tenuta di Biserno. Popular Champagne brand Billcart-Salmon. Domaine de la Mordoree from Rhone Valley’s beloved Chateauneuf du Pape. Well-respected Alto Adige producer Franz Haas. Or prestigious Domaine Comtesse de Cherisey, which makes some splendid Chardonnay from renowned Bourgogne appellations such as Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, and Santanay.

And from the New World? Yarra Valley’s Giant Steps or Barossa Valley’s Clarendon Hills from Australia. Maipo Valley’s iconic Almaviva. Otherwise there’s Napa Valley’s Opus One and Joseph Phelps from the US.

Among many others.

Here are just some of the bottles we have our eye on.

Angra annual warehouse sale

Billecart-Salmon Brut Sous Bois NV

A unique cuvée that’s quite unlike any Champagne we know, vinified as it is entirely by oak. This superb blend is composed of grapes from some of the best Premier and Grand Crus from the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs, and is incredibly rich and layered, making a fabulous epicurean tipple that can hold up to almost any dish you pair it with in the coming year-end festive season.

Colet Tradicional Extra Brut

Made with the classic Xarello, Macabeu and Parellada varietals, this D.O. Penedés sparkling wine made using the traditional method absolutely…errr, sparkles. Elegant yet fresh and fruit forward, this bubbly makes for a welcome drop to kick off any party or to complement your favourite festive desserts.

Franz Haas Pinot Grigio 2021

We can’t say it enough: Pinot Grigio is incredibly underrated. And this Pinot Grigio by Franz Haas from Alto Aldige in the north of Italy – also known as Südtirol – is an incredible example of how Pinot Grigio thrives and comes into its own in that cool, high-altitude Alpine climate. Crisp and refreshing acidity and vibrant citrusy notes make this white wine a delight with seafood, poultry and spicy Asian dishes.

Chateau Plince Pomerol 2015

Merlot-led Libournais wines are among some of the most versatile, great for sipping as they are for pairing with food. And Pomerol is one of the most respected Right Bank Bordeaux appellations, where family-owned Chateau Plince is based. Expect plenty of blackberry and plum, and time in oak – 12 to 18 months – means plenty of tertiary notes in tobacco, leather, and baking spice. Just like how we like our Pomerol.

Le Medoc De Cos 2014

In case the name isn’t already a dead giveaway, this wine hails from Bordeaux’s prestigious Chateau Cos d’Estournel. Vinified from grapes sourced from the Médoc – specifically from Saint-Estephe – this second wine is made pretty much the same way as the winery’s top (and highly sought-after) range but comes at a fraction of the price. And if we can pick this up at a bargain? Even better.

Montresor Amarone

Montresor Amarone Della Valpolicella “Satinato” 2019

This highly-awarded wine from Giacomo Montresor is classic Valpolicella. Rich, expressive and indulgent from the appassimento technique of drying out grapes – the region’s indigenous varietals Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara – partially, you’ll want to kick back and slowly savour the Satinato. It’ll be perfect for counting down to the new year!

For the Angra annual warehouse sale at their showroom in Tanjong Pagar Distripark (39 Keppel Road #03-03), we’re looking at up to 60% off on selected wines. So if we’re lucky, we should be able to pick up some truly good deals, hopefully these bottles among them.
