Pioneering award-winning Manhattan Bar commemorates its 10-year milestone with a slate of extraordinary guest shifts that puts the ten in “ManhatTEN”.
This year, Manhattan Bar at Conrad Singapore Orchard celebrates its tenth anniversary.
That’s right. Ten years. One decade. A cocktail bar that’s not only survived the brutally competitive Singapore cocktail scene – and a global pandemic – but thrived instead, winning multiple awards along the way. Including No.3 in World’s 50 Best Bars and No.1 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars back in 2018.
And while it’s yet to return those stratospheric heights in recent years, Manhattan Bar remains one of Singapore’s iconic pioneering cocktail bars. And one of the most enduring. And to celebrate its decade in the business, it has announced, for the month of April, a month-long series of events to mark its intent for the next decade of its existence. Aptly named “ManhatTEN”, you’re looking at five special guest shifts and bartender takeovers that should entice even the most discerning of cocktail revellers.
That’s not all. To pave its way into the next decade, Manhattan will also, as part of its anniversary celebrations, be unveiling East47, a progressive 12-seater cocktail bar-in-a-bar. More than a pop-up, this really is an invite-only pocket bar – inspired by Andy Warhol’s iconic Silver Factory on East 47th Street – that redefines a whole new approach to cocktail enjoyment.

Uniting the Titans – Wednesday 10 April 2024, 6pm to 10pm
To kickstart its 10th anniversary celebrations, Manhattan Bar will bring together the other three of The Big Four in Singapore’s cocktail scene – Jigger & Pony, 28HKS and Nutmeg & Clove – for the ultimate bar takeover. Lauded mixologists Aki Eguchi from Jigger & Pony, Lucas Kaufmann from 28HKS, along with Colin Chia and Shelley Tai from Nutmeg & Clove, will join Zana Mohlmann, Manhattan Bar’s Head Bartender to unveil a curated selection of three signature cocktails from each bar.
The American Connection: Friends of Manhattan x Allegory with Deke Dunne – Friday 12 April 2024, 6pm to 10pm
Tapping on its American links, Manhattan brings in Beverage and Creative Director Deke Dunne (pictured above) from Washington DC’s Allegory. This collaboration is set to showcase Allegory’s remarkable accolades, including its spot in North America’s 50 Best Bars and numerous Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Award nominations, with a selection of inventive cocktails that offers a glimpse into the bar’s bold, community-focused approach to mixology.
Reinventing British: Friends of Manhattan Chef Series x JAAN By Kirk Westaway – Sunday 14 April 2024, 6pm to 10pm
Not forgetting Manhattan’s culinary chops, this collaboration features JAAN by Kirk Westaway – ranked #53 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 – for a one-night-only tasting journey that will feature elevated British cuisine from the two Michelin-starred restaurant. JAAN’s Chef Kirk Westaway and Manhattan Head Bartender Zana Mohlmann partners for ant exclusive five-course menu marries JAAN’s contemporary British cuisine with Manhattan’s cocktail craftsmanship.
Friends of Manhattan x Agite Club with Raiza Carrera – Wednesday 17 April 2024, 6pm to 10pm
Catch internationally acclaimed bartender Raiza Carrera of Agite Club with this special guest shift. Lauded as the Best Bartender in Spain in 2023, Raiza brings her flair to Manhattan with her signature cocktails in collaboration with Orientalist Spirits that showcase her unique blend of innovation and global influences.
A Decade Defined: Ten Years of Manhattan – Wednesday 24 April 2024, 6pm to 10pm
Ending off its tenth anniversary ManhatTEN bash is this insane special evening that will see Manhattan bring back museum cocktails from its archives that it’s created over the past decade, as well as 10 hallmark cocktails that’s defined Manhattan over the years. And free flow too, no less. Cocktails will be complemented by refined canapés by newly-appointed Chef de Cuisine Carolyn Or, with beats provided by DJ Aldrin. Party like there’s another ten years ahead.
