ProWine Singapore unveils a series of firsts for its upcoming 2024 edition this April, including the first-ever German Pavilion, multiple new product launches, and the inaugural ProWine Awards.

Messe Düsseldorf Asia, organisers of ProWine Singapore, has announced a stellar lineup of exhibitors and activities that may make its upcoming 2024 edition its biggest yet. Happening on 23 to 26 April, ProWine Singapore 2024 will showcase an extensive selection of wines and spirits by 200 exhibitors from 26 countries, and is set to attract over 8,000 trade visitors from Singapore and across the region to attend the show.

Among the exhibitors include six national pavilions and country groups, including France, Germany, Ireland, three Spanish provinces (Catalonia, Castile and León, and Utiel-Requena in Valencia) alongside Singapore. The all-new German Pavilion, in particular, will see 14 German producers showcase their prized wares such as top-grade Rieslings and Spatburgunders.

Some of these wines will be unveiled in Asia for the first time; among them will be the Bechtheimer Hasensprung Pinot Noir from Weingut Spiess, Einig-Zenzen’s Dr. Zenzen Queen of Grapes Riesling, as well as a 2023 Riesling from Rheinhessen’s Frey Winery making its global premiere.

In attendance too will be Jessica Himmelsbach, named by the German Wine Institute as the 75th German Wine Princess, who is in town for the concurrent Riesling Week.

Uncommon native Spanish grape varietals are likely to be the dark horses among exhibitors from Spain. For example, the Albor de Resalte 2022 from Ribera del Duoro’s Resalte de Peñafiel at the Castile and León pavilion features the white Albillo grape, while the Bobos Finca Casa la Borracha Bobal showcases the rare Bobal red grape indigenous to Utiel-Requena.

ProWine Singapore 2024 will feature two new zones for the first time with ProWine Zero and ProSpirits. ProWine Zero will shine the spotlight on the NOLO category (no alcohol, low alcohol), while ProSpirits zooms in on spirits producers particularly of the craft variety. For example, over at Ireland’s pavilion, trade visitors will also get to witness as Cork-based Clonakilty Distillery launches its inaugural Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey.

The wine and spirits trade show has also unveiled a slate of specialised masterclasses. Led by esteemed Masters of Wine (MW) and industry experts, these in-depth discussions will offer views on evolving consumption trends, distribution strategies, technological advancements, and insightful demonstrations by industry thought leaders. Some of these masterclasses come with tastings, allowing visitors to get up close and personal with various spirits and wines to make informed purchasing decisions.

Another first at ProWine Singapore 2024 is the inaugural ProWine Singapore Awards 2024. Designed to showcase and honour contributions and achievements within the wine and spirits industry, award categories such as “Best Wine & Spirits Education Programme”, “Best Emerging Wine & Spirits Talent” or “Best No-Lo Beverage List” seek to elevate and invigorate Singapore’s F&B sector while recognising the dynamic spirit and achievements of industry players.
