Organised by drinks publication Thirst Mag, GinRum.Me is a drinks festival taking place at boutique hotel The KL Journal in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday 7 July from 12pm to 8pm that will celebrate gin and rum in all their spirited glory.

The first-ever festival of its kind celebrating rum and gin in Kuala Lumpur, the full day celebrations will see an entire gamut of tastings, workshops, guest shifts featuring rum- and gin-laced cocktails. and even a pop-up bar from Singapore’s The Secret Mermaid. Event-goers get to taste over 20 different labels of gin and rum, including familiar brands like Angostura, Mekhong, Phraya, Plantation, Ron Zacapa, Gin Agricolo, Caorunn, Citadelle, Nikka Gin, and The Botanist.

Cocktails – such as Malaysia’s iconic Jungle Bird – will be available at the main bar for RM25 each, and those who prefer other alcoholic tipples can avail themselves to beers from Margaret River, Western Australia craft brewery Beerfarm. The KL Journal will have food on hand to help you line your tummies in anticipation for all that booze.

Tickets are available at RM85 per person, and can be purchased here. Each ticket comes with a GinRum.Me tasting glass, and a passport which gives you a further discount on special cocktails at 15 partner bars – including AD Bar, Bar Zhen, The Deceased, Hyde, Kenshin, Mish Mash Penang, and Omakase + Appreciate – from 7 – 14 July 2018.

If there’s a reason to go to Kuala Lumpur this weekend, it’s for this. We’re only upset someone thought of the GinRum.Me name first.
