Rum Bellion, a Caribbean festival and street party celebrating all things rum, will take place this October along Keong Saik Road.

It’s been a while since we had a rum festival in town. We had Rum Jam organised by Caribbean restaurant Lime House back in 2015, and that was followed by Rasa Fiesta in 2017. That is set to change in October, when casual mod-Japanese izakaya restaurant and bar Neon Pigeon and neighbour venues Taki Taki, Limehouse and Bula Café & Bar takes over Keong Saik Road to host Rum Bellion.

The rum festival, which takes place on Sunday 13 October 2019, will convert Keong Saik Road into a Caribbean-style street party celebrating the world of rum. Revellers can expect a comprehensive lineup of leading and global rum brands featured at the festival, including famous names like Mount Gay (Barbados), Diplomatico (Venezuela), Appleton (Jamaica), and Zacapa (Guatemala), emerging brands such as Kukhri (Nepal), Flor de Caña (Nicaragua), and Six Saints (Grenada), as well as Asian ones such as Tanduay (Philippines), Mekong (Thailand), Phraya (Thailand) and Nusa Cana (Bali).

As for food, festival goers can line their tummies with grub from Fat Prince, Fung Kee Hotdogs, Lime House, and Flat Stanley Bali. Other activations taking place along Keong Saik Road during the event include intimate masterclasses, an outdoor market, an on-site tattoo artist, as well as a Caribbean-style carnival complete with face painters for kids, making Rum Bellion a great day out for both families and friends.

Tickets are $12 per person, redeemable for one drink; additional drinks coupons – at $12 – can be purchased on site. You can find out more about Rum Bellion here.
