We look at the various distribution appointments and changes officially announced in Singapore over the past month of July 2020.

Jack Daniel’s Craft & Luxury Collection on Brown-Forman LazMall

Jack Daniel’s moves to Malt & Wine Asia.

Brown-Forman, owners of popular Tennessee whiskey brand Jack Daniel’s, has announced a new distributor in Malt & Wine Asia. Brown-Forman’s distribution agreement with previous distributor YHS (Singapore) ended last month, and Malt & Wine Asia will officially take over sales, distribution and promotion of Jack Daniel’s in Singapore from August 2020.

The Jack Daniel’s portfolio joins other Brown-Forman brands already currently distributed by Malt & Wine Asia, including Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Old Forester Bourbon, BenRiach Speyside Single Malt, The GlenDronach Highland Single Malt, Glenglassaugh Highland Single Malt, Slane Irish Whiskey, Herradura Tequila, el Jimador Tequila, Fords Gin, Finlandia Vodka and Chambord Liqueur.

“Jack Daniel’s is one of the most iconic brands in the world. We are proud and optimistic to partner Brown Forman to rejuvenate Jack Daniel’s, and focus on premiumisation by especially building Jack Daniel’s craft and luxury selection,” says Alex Yong, Managing Director of Malt & Wine Asia.

Brass Lion joins the Proof & Company portfolio.

Brass Lion Distillery has singled premium spirits distributor Proof & Company to represent its core range of products in Singapore. This is the first time the homegrown distilling outfit has ever appointed one.

Founded in 2018, Brass Lion Distillery is Singapore’s first full-fledged micro distillery. Proof & Company will take on sales and distribution of Brass Lion’s core gin range – including their flagship Singapore Dry Gin, the Butterfly Pea Gin, and the Pahit Pink Gin – and expand the brand’s existing on-trade and off-trade presence through its strong client network of national retailers, leading cocktail venues and major hotels.

With this move, Brass Lion looks set to join the ecoSPIRITS network, allowing its gins to be distributed across the region using a patent-pending, first-in-the-world technology that supplies spirits for restaurant and bar venues using an innovative closed-loop distribution technology that nearly eliminates packaging waste in the premium spirits supply chain.

Four Pillars Gin range

Octopus Group signs up Four Pillars Gin.

Four Pillars Gin have announced Octopus Group as their new distribution partner in Singapore. The award-winning gin producer from Victoria, Australia has ended its partnership with Brand Connect Asia Pacific as of July 2020, and granted its sales and distribution rights to beverage import, distribution and marketing outfit Octopus Group.

In a press release, Four Pillars Regional Trade Director Mark Lawton thanked Brand Connect for the work thy’ve done to establish the Australian gin brand across the region. “While we look forward to an exciting future with Octopus Group, we cannot thank Brand Connect enough for where they have established us in the Singapore market.”

Four Pillars will continue to export their four core gins to Singapore – the Rare Dry Gin, Spiced Negroni Gin, Navy Strength Gin, and the cult favourite Bloody Shiraz Gin.

Also known as Octopus Distribution Networks, Octopus Group has recently seen an overhaul of its portfolio. Last year it acquired rights to distribute Accolade Wines brands Grant Burge, Hardys and Mud House, as well as the McGuigan Wines range, after losing the distribution rights for Treasury Wine Estates brands including Penfolds, Wolf Blass and Rosemount Estate.

Before Brand Connect Asia Pacific, Four Pillars was represented by Equatorial Wines.
