To celebrate the Year of the Tiger, Shanghai-based Peddlers Gin has rounded up various Singapore cocktail bars and an indie movie theatre for special cocktails.
Shanghai-based Peddlers Gin Company looks to celebrate this coming Chinese New Year in style, and here in Singapore they have rounded up various local cocktail bars to paint the town red.
The world’s first made-in-China gin, Peddlers Gin was recently launched in Singapore. The China gin distinguishes itself from other modern gins with the use of rare botanicals more commonly found in its part of the world, such as Buddha’s hand, Sichuan pepper, Chinese almonds, and lotus. Peddlers employs the London Dry distillation method, double distilling using a traditional copper pot ensures a crisp, clean taste.
These oriental flavours are, of course, perfect for a tipsy lively Lunar New Year.
To usher in the Year of the Tiger, the award-winning gin has worked with six Singapore cocktail bars to create limited-time cocktails showcasing its gin. Participating venues Sago House, Stay Gold Flamingo, Barbary Coast, 28 Hong Kong Street, Druggists, and Set of Six will each offer exclusive Peddlers Gin cocktails in a two-week period during Chinese New Year.
For example, Stay Gold Flamingo is offering three specials – Fire Tiger, a tall coffee-based cocktail; Oriental Martini, a sweet and strong twist on the classic Martini; and for food there’s the Scallion Pancake, as a tribute to Peddlers Gin’s origins.
Peddlers Gin has also partnered up with Projector X, where the indie film theatre will feature Chinese New Year related screenings and gin cocktails along with festive Chinese delicacies.
“2022 is the Year of the Tiger – an animal which represents bravery in Chinese culture. Along with some exciting events, delicious food and cocktails, we’ll be releasing exclusive content that captures the spirit of the tiger and sheds a human light on China and its rich cultural diversity. We can’t wait to share these stories – and some cocktails – with the world,” said Joseph Judd, Marketing Director of Peddlers Gin Company.
The exclusive Peddlers Gin Chinese New Year cocktails will be available at participating bars from 24 January to 6 February 2022. The Projector X activation will also take place during the same period.
