Official ART SG champagne partner Ruinart unveils its Ruinart Art Bar featuring David Shrigley originals at the art fair happening this weekend.
Art lovers will be flocking down to Marina Bay Sands Convention this weekend for ART SG, the biggest art fair to be launched in Asia Pacific in a decade. Over 150 of the world’s leading galleries will be exhibiting, such as Milan’s Cardi Gallery, Casado Santapau from Madrid, De Sarthe of Hong Kong, and Singapore’s own 39+ Art Space, among many others.
But there’s a reason for champagne lovers to visit too. ART SG official champagne partner Ruinart has unveiled Ruinart Art Bar, an installation combining art and champagne, at the fair that’s similar to the one that popped up at Frieze London back in 2021.
Ruinart Art Bar at ART SG will be displaying eight original artworks from the Reims-based maison’s longstanding artistic collaboration with internationally-renowned contemporary British visual artist David Shrigley.
Created as part of the Maison’s annual Carte Blanche project, Shrigley’s 36-piece ‘Unconventional Bubbles’ collection explores hidden side of champagne production, the savoir-faire, and Ruinart’s relationship with nature in his signature cheeky and irreverent style.
“This is true of champagne and it is also true of art, in that each time you hang something on the wall, or place something on the floor, its character is altered.”
– David Shrigley
And it’s a bar as well after all, so one can verily order a glass of Ruinart champers to sip on as you take in Shrigley’s work. It may just help spark a surprising conversation about nature and the process of creating champagne.
The Ruinart Art Bar runs from 12 to 15 January at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre as part of the ART SG fair. For more information about ART SG, visit: https://artsg.com/.
