New Zealand’s Squealing Pig Rosé Gin now available exclusively in Singapore via Changi Airport’s online commerce site, iShopChangi.
Irreverent Marlborough-based winery Squealing Pig Wines is best known for its making some of the most fun wines to come out of New Zealand. While its contemporaries push themselves to produce the Sauvignon Blanc wines the region is well-known for, for us it’s really Squealing Pig’s take on the rosé – vinified with Pinot Noir – that helped put it on the map.
Slightly lesser known is the fact that Squealing Pig also makes a gin. In fact, the Squealing Pig Rosé Gin has been around for almost a decade – and winning many awards along the way – but most of us aren’t familiar with it because it never made it here to Singapore in any big way.
Well, now it is. Squealing Pig brand owners Treasury Wine Estates has partnered Lotte Duty Free Group – which now runs the liquor and tobacco concessionaire operations at Changi Airport – to make the pink gin available exclusively on Changi Airport’s online commerce platform iShopChangi.
Like most gins, the Squealing Pig Rosé Gin is made with a base spirit that’s infused with any number of botanicals – in this case, there are ten botanicals, including juniper berries, citrus peels, lavender blossoms, coriander seeds and laurel leaf, among others. But what makes it a touch different from other gins is that it actually sees the addition of a splash of Squealing Pig Rosé wine in its making. The rosé wine adds a touch of freshness to the gin, as well as notes of ripe strawberry to the finish.
Squealing Pig’s recommended serve for its Rosé Gin? Over ice with soda water, a slice of pink grapefruit and a sprig of fresh mint; or simply enjoy in the nude neat. We reckon it will also be great served as in a modern saketini.

The Squealing Pig Rosé Gin is available exclusively in a 1L format on Changi Airport’s online tax-free store, iShopChangi.com at a retail price of S$70 until 31 October 2020.
