Fever-Tree debuts its Refreshingly Light range of four tonic waters that promises a lighter and lower calorie highball drinking experience.
Love your gin and tonic but looking to cut down on the calories you imbibe? Fever-Tree may just have the answer. The global premium mixer brand recently released in Singapore its Refreshingly Light range, a set of four high-end tonic waters that clock in at lower calorie counts than your usual tonics.
The new Fever-Tree Refreshingly Light range offers four different flavours – Cucumber Tonic Water, Elderflower Tonic Water, Indian Tonic Water and Mediterranean Tonic Water. These are the ‘light’ versions of its best-selling tonic water variants that come in at 32-46% less calories. According to the brand, they made with its signature quinine from the fever trees of Eastern Congo, as well as “finest naturally sourced ingredients and using fruit sugars for a lighter and lower-calorie serve”. For example, the Elderflower Tonic Water uses handpicked English elderflowers, while the Mediterranean Tonic Water variant employs lemon thyme from Provence. On the other hand, oils from Mexican bitter oranges have been used in Indian Tonic Water to give the tonic its distinct taste and aroma.
The introduction of Fever-Tree’s new range comes in the midst of an increasing global trend where consumers are increasingly becoming more conscientious when it comes to drinking, seeking out better quality products and healthier options to maintain their wellbeing. This ranges from zero alcohol products – such as zero alcohol beer or zero alcohol spirits – to mixers that are lower in calories, sugar and/or preservatives.
The eclectic lighter tonic range from Fever-Tree with its four different expressions also makes it easier to mix and match with your favourite gins. The Mediterranean Tonic Water, for example, with its herbal lemon thyme notes will work very well with more citrusy and herbaceous gins such as Monkey 47 or Tanqueray No. Ten. The floral accents of the Elderflower Tonic Water makes it suitable for floral gins such as Hendrick’s or The Botanist.
Fever-Tree was recently voted as the bestselling and top trending tonic water brand in the Drinks International Annual Brands Report 2021 for the seventh year running.
