Singapore Cocktail Festival returns for its 2023 edition, promising a stellar calendar of drinking events over a 17-day festival period.

Singapore Cocktail Festival is back! Asia’s leading festival related to all things cocktail returns for its ninth consecutive edition, and spirited revellers can expect to see a calendar chockfull of drinks-related activities running 5 to 21 May 2023.

For those unfamiliar with this annual event, the Singapore Cocktail Festival (SGCF) began life as Singapore Cocktail Week back in 2015. In 2017 it evolved into a full-blown festival, as Singapore’s cocktail scene grew from strength to strength. And while the global coronavirus pandemic put the brakes on festivities in the past couple of years, this coming edition promises to bring back everything we’ve missed.

And more.

Festival Village (5-7 May 2023)

With the theme of ‘Shaking Up New Possibilities’, Singapore Cocktail Festival 2023 will finally see the return of its much-beloved flagship Festival Village. Running from 5 to 7 May 2023 at the Marina Bayfront event space, the Festival Village offers aspiring and seasoned cocktail hounds the opportunity to sample over 100 cocktails in one space.

The Festival Village will see a burgeoning slate of many bars, many of them award-winning cocktail bars from Singapore and around the region, shaking up their liquid libations. Some of these headline bars include Indulge Experimental Bistro (Taipei, No.6 at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022), Maybe Sammy (Sydney, No.29 at The World’s 50 Best Bars 2022), Penicillin (Hong Kong, No.22 at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022), Sidecar (New Delhi, No.14 at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022), as well as rising stars such as ReCraft from Manila and Bangkok’s The Bar at The House on Sathorn.

The pride of Singapore’s cocktail bar scene will also be present. Expect to find top cocktail bars – such as Junior the Pocket Bar and Tippling Club, among others – popping up on the festival grounds serving up their signature drinks on a rotational basis.

And aside from a slew of themed drinking experiences, the Festival Village will feature immersive pop-ups from different spirit brands. These include the Hendrick’s Gin Experience, set up in collaboration with homegrown cocktail bar Night Hawk, a “poolside party’ by Italy’s Malfy Gin complete with gin slushies, or Monkey Shoulder, which will be hauling out its own cocktail truck to dish out their whisky tipples.

City Takeover (5-21 May 2023)

As one would expect when the region’s top cocktail people fly into the Lion City, there would be parties. Local cocktail bars will host many of their international counterparts for cocktail guest shifts and bar takeovers; among them will be Analogue (No.37 at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022) which will host Sydney’s Maybe Sammy, while Manhattan (No.9 at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022 will see Indulge Experimental Bistro from Taipei drop in,. Head over to Origin Bar (No.66 at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022) where they will be shaking things up with New Delhi’s Sidecar, while Republic (No.12 at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022) will man the sticks with Hong Kong’s Penicillin. Then there’s Stay Gold Flamingo and The Elephant Room – both on Asia’s 50 Best Bars Singapore Discovery list – which will welcome ReCraft (Manila) and The Bar at The House on Sathorn (Bangkok), respectively.

But it’s not just guest shifts. Expect to see activities such as cocktail brunches, bar crawls, and other parties take place all over town across those 17 days. Chow down and drink up at bottomless brunches at The Bar at 15 Stamford and LUCE by Davide Giacomellli, for example, or participate in a bar crawl that will see a guide take you around some of the best drinking spots in town.

Just ready your livers.
